This website is being made by professionals with wide and deep experience in Africa’s health systems who are using their knowledge to build Africa’s most complete listing of health professionals, services and health facilities. Our goal is to help patients, the general public and their care providers have the power to make the best decisions about their health easily, safely and cheaply.

Why we are doing this

Inspired by the call “nothing about me without me”, words attributed to Valerie Billingham, during a session 356 of the Salzburg Global Seminar of 1998, we seek to empower patients to participate in shared decision making whenever they seek care. At EastView, we believe that patients should play an active role be it in clinical settings or research. Everyday, we wake up to:

Provide up-to-date, accurate reviews of healthcare providers, practices, services and hospitals in Africa.
Identify all stakeholders for opportunities in developing patient-centered healthcare in Africa.

Hey guys, how does a medical practitioner get listed on this website?

At the moment, so as to maintain integrity of our database, the listings are done by us sourcing publicly available information from KMPDC, other regulators and validated sources. This means that if a medical practitioner’s details are updated with the regulatory body that governs their practice, the are most likely to be listed in our directory. However omissions may occur due to various factors which we are working hard to solve. In the near future, we intend for the practitioners we list to have some control over their listings on the website, including allowing for self listing. Our primary concern as we work towards that is impersonation and integrity of the information posted. In the near future, we will roll out products to help practitioners connect with colleagues and the public in a manner that’s simple and verifiable as is possible. In the meantime, if a practitioner want’s themselves listed, they can send their professional and educational information or CV via email to list@deliverafya.org.
